Deer Crossing Update

Friday, February 6th, 2009

The county has denied Director Werth’s request on our behalf to have deer crossing signs put up on Seven Mile.  The county will not put up the signs until more deer are hit. There are currently two carcasses between Haggerty and Fry but we are not sure they count the “hits” unless they are reported.

Please report any accidents or carcasses you see to the Twp. police so that the signs can be put into place as soon as possible.

Our thanks to Director Werth.

State Hospital Town Hall Meeting - 7PM, October 14th; Highland Lakes Club House

Property Development – The Consent Judgment, the Impact and What You Can Do To Help

A Town Hall meeting to inform our residents about the former State Hospital property development, legal issues, and consent judgment agreed to by the Township, has been scheduled. It will be held at 7:00 PM, Tuesday, October 14th, 2008, at the Highland Lakes Club House, 20301 Silver Springs Drive, between Seven Mile and Eight Mile Roads. The Town Hall is being conducted by Citizens for Public Accountability and Responsible Development (CPARD), a grass roots organization with wide community support.

At the Town Hall, you will be provided information about the scope of the last minute, quietly passed agreement between the Township Board and the developer, legal and legislative matters, the Brownfield Authority, taxation and the effect that all of these issues and more will have on Northville Township and the surrounding communities.

We have invited guest speaker Steve Lomske to give a presentation and to join us in answering questions that you may have regarding what will happen next on the property and how you can help ensure that this property is developed responsibly.

All local residents are invited. A large turnout will help show Northville Township that the residents want a development that abides by our zoning ordinances, doesn’t overwhelm our roads, is fiscally responsible to the taxpayers and helps preserve the Northvillle Community’s character. Please join us on Tuesday, October 14, 2008 at 7:00 PM.
